Continuity of Care Study
Qualitative Research in Health Services for Children with Chronic Health Conditions/Disabilities and their Families: The Continuity of Care Study is one in a series of research presentations supported by the BCCH and Sunny Hill Foundation, presented in January, 2013 at Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children, by Dr. Anton Miller
Dr. Anton Miller’s medical training was undertaken in South Africa, pediatric training in Vancouver, and he completed an academically-based fellowship in developmental-behavioral pediatrics in Montreal. His clinical interests are children with hearing loss and children with complex functional presentations including impairments in language, learning, social interaction and self-regulation.
His research is concerned with children with developmental disorders and disabilities and other complex chronic presentations: identification of these children in datasets; measuring and assessing their health and wellbeing, and the health and wellbeing of their caregivers; and documenting and improving aspects of quality and performance in the service system that exists to support them, including the areas of accessibility, appropriateness, coordination and continuity.
